Trade Skills for Girls is for entering 10th - 12th graders who are under 18 years old.

Join us for a week of hands-on learning and fun as teens step into the role of OVY Apprentice! This week will include our apprentices learning practical and skilled trades such as carpentry, masonry, and some electrical. You’ll learn how to use hand and power tools safely, planning and measuring for projects, and working with other teens on a building project that will help improve OVY Camp. But of course this is summer camp, so we’ll add in pool parties and other traditional evening camp activities like skit night, teen hangouts, campfires and s’mores. Apprentices will sleep in cabin together with a counselor, practice their hands-on skills during the day, enjoy the benefits of summer camp during the evenings, and earn volunteer hours toward high school graduation.
