Sprawling across more than 94 acres of forest and meadows on the western slope of the Santa Cruz Mountains just off a secluded portion of State Highway 84; OVY Camp grounds are ideal for accessing the rich San Francisco Peninsula coast.
Our camp features facilities to accommodate several hundred guests, and is near to State Parks, beaches, and preserves covering hundreds of square miles with hiking, biking, and horse trails.
Surrounded by nature, the camp grounds are dotted with trails. Visitors see
great oaks, firs, redwood, and madrone trees.
Mountain springs feed a gentle
stream that runs through the camp. Mild slopes between meadows give way to
a moderate hill providing a scenic view, and backdrop for the entire grounds.
During the dawn and dusk hours, many visitors catch glimpses of common animals
like deer, raccoon, opossums, tree squirrels, lizards, and cottontail rabbits.
Also seen are birds, including falcons, turkeys, hawks, eagles, swallows,
owls, wild geese, ducks, gulls, finches, and sparrows which flourish in these
meadows and forests. Rarely seen are the more elusive animals like bobcats,
shrews, moles, gophers, foxes or the endangered salamanders, newts, harmless
garter snakes, and other animals that live in the area.
